PRSSA-nal Journey -

This is my work-in-progress photo essay for my Advanced Photojournalism course, The story of three women in the public relations program at CSULB who are in different chapters of their life. They are defining what their life and education means to them. No copy and paste for them.

Diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) have taken a hit in the American political arena as of late. We as a society are sliding backwards in our advancements, fought for by those who came before us. Even though one side is very loud and very wrong in their support of this regression, the groups who are affected and those who support them keep moving forward.
I will focus my project on women and their strides in education and professional advancement. My subjects will come from the Long Beach chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA LB). This diverse group of mostly women wears different hats and have diverse stories to share.

Women are diverse and continue to be important to the professional world. They often have to juggle responsibilities and roles, but are judged no matter what they do. I want to shine a light on what they can do, not on what people say they can’t.
